About

I am a first-year PhD student in the Department of Statistics at UC Berkeley. I am broadly interested in developing new methods and theory in machine learning, with a focus on using mathematics to build deeper understanding of complex problems.
Before Berkeley, I completed a BS in Mathematics and Statistics at Rice University in 2024. My senior thesis, advised by Meng Li, focused on closed-form estimators for logistic regression.
Research Interests
- Statistical machine learning theory
- High-dimensional statistics
- Estimation and inference
Writing
I write about topics in statistical machine learning on my ML Almanac. Recent posts include an exploration of PCA through the lens of linear algebra.
